A Break for Your Enjoyment!

I may be an oddball but I like watching grilling contests on TV. At these competitions the contestant, who are very serious about their craft, compete in different categories. The typical categories are Ribs, Chicken, and Pork. They have different times to submit each of the various meats. Which are then given a number and delivered to judges in a random fashion. The judges then judge each submission on appearance, tenderness, and of course taste. Well in between the submissions from various contestants the judges have what they call a palette cleanser. This just gets the taste of the last entry out of their mouth before they taste the next one. This post was pretty much a mental palette cleanser. I feel like I've been pretty serious, and a bit negative with the last few so I am offering up this palette cleanser for your enjoyment. Here are some photos from the the national beard and mustache competition.

Seems a bit odd to me, but to each his own. Never the less the pictures are amusing to me. I personally have never thought of what sort of art I could portray with my own beard. Maybe I am missing out, but I think I will stick with the ordinary for now.
I feel as though I would be doing a disservice to this blog and God if I did not include some scripture.
  • Philippians 2:10-11
  • 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I personally think it is much greater to bow in free will now, than when everyone is forced to bow at the judgement seat of Christ. Plus there is the matter of eternal salvation. Those who refuse to bow in life will not escape bowing. Read it closely, it says EVERY knee. It does offer me some comfort to think that even those that mock us, or persecute us, will bow before our God eventually. Like I said before, the difference being we will go on to dwell with Him forever in His Kingdom, they on the other hand will be whisked off to an eternity in the lake of fire. It is a guarantee that if you step out of this life with out Jesus Christ you are doomed.

  • Luke 11:1-4 So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”

Your Kingdom Come! How great a day that will be! A return to righteousness! I only hope this reaches out to some one who does not look forward to this. It can be yours, no price at all! Just repent and trust! Grace is God's free gift to all!
